Wow, old topic. I never did get that N64. The guy who said I could have it kept forgetting to bring it to me, even after I (gently) bugged him about it. Then he got another job somewhere else and I haven't seen him since. Oh well. It's cool though, cause I got something better. I was at a store called Play-N-Trade and I saw a system called the FC Twin that had two cartridge slots for NES and Super NES games! Apparently this thing is legal since Nintendo's patent on the hardware expired, so cool beans. I bought four SNES games with it (Aladdin, F-Zero, Batman Forever and Phalanx) and it's been a lot of fun, especially since I was able to dig out all my old NES games.
On top of that, I was on ebay last weekend (I've browsed on there a lot but never bought anything until now) and found a deal that was too good to pass up. I got a Sega Genesis and nine games and only paid $25 (that includes shipping). I always wanted to get a Genesis, ever since I was 10, and when I saw one on sale for $10, I pounced. I'm still waiting for it to come in the mail, but I'm psyched. Man, I've got a lot of great memories of playing Sega at my friend's house. We'd play Mortal Kombat and I'd lose every time but I was having too much fun to care. Sometimes we'd get into all night marathon sessions of Risk (which was so much more convenient to play in a videogame form) and fall into bed at, like, 7 or 8 the next morning. And I was absolutely hooked on Sonic. Those were the days. To me, it just seems that nothing coming out today even compares to what used to be. I feel so old.
