Another lost Oswald The Lucky Rabbit cartoon from 1927 has been discovered in Norway. "Empty Socks" is regarded as the first Christmas cartoon from Walt Disney. Norway's National Library has made a digital copy of the short and sent it immediately to the Disney company.

This thrills me. Stuff like this is amazing, especially when it's a tiny two reeler that could easily have been skipped or had one reel missing. Nice that they are sending Disney a copy...hopefully it will become available sometime in a nice Oswald...oh, wait, what am I saying...this is 21st Century Disney we're talking about...!

I say we start picketing the offices to get glorious blu ray releases of all the Oswald and other classic Disney shorts.
Granted it would likely fail miserably, but dammit I want this in my hands right now!

Disney got Oswald back and have done so little with him since.

It was symbolic, really, of the re-dedication after Iger replaced Eisner, but in the real world...there's never really BEEN a 20's-30's B/W non-Fleischer character who was funny, and that, sadly, includes Steamboat Willie.TitusTodd wrote:Disney got Oswald back and have done so little with him since.
