Also, it totally ruled when Shrek and Fiona guest starred on the Golden Globes four years ago. (Meyers and Diaz presented)
Meyers: They seem a bit ogre-confident, since their movie was an ogre-night success.
Diaz: Oh, Mike, you're being a bit oger-ly sensitive.
Meyers: Who wrote this bad, bad, award show banter?
Diaz: Jeffrey Katzenberg.
Meyers: I love it!

Ebert has a good story about the Brokeback/Crash controversy:

One of the mysteries of the 2006 Oscar season is the virulence with which lovers of "Brokeback Mountain" savaged "Crash." When the film about racism actually won the Oscar for best picture Sunday, there was no grace in their response... The nature of the attacks on "Crash" by the supporters of "Brokeback Mountain" seem to proceed from the other position: "Brokeback" is better not only because of its artistry but because of its subject matter, and those who disagree hate homosexuals.

I can't. For some reason, I'm really excited about that character. Maybe it's because I love insane squirells.ShyViolet wrote:

As for "The Wild", Meg is right: "Doogal" will beat all!

I'm very happy Crash won. Although I'm sure Brokeback Mountain was a great film (I want to read the novella first, it's only 50 pages long!) I saw Crash and it was so....so....so good. It's about racism, all kinds of racism, misguided, hardcore, complacscent, unconscious. TOTALLY see this film, it's on DVD now. And if you have kids this is a great movie for them to see, although probably not for under-12.
I saw Crash and then I talked to people....no one had heard of it. Now everyone knows about it. So cool!
Also about Reese Witherspoon, she's really beautiful now that she's so skinny but she was very pretty before too, even when she wasn't a "Hollywood babe." In Election she was really cute, definetely more "girl-next-door."

I know this is an old thread but I can't help wondering about Best Animated Feature for next year: Cars or Over the Hedge?
(Wild Guess: I doubt Doogal will get a nom )
What about The Wild or Ice Age 2? Also, does Enchanted count as an "animated" film? What about "Monster House"?
