I'm hearing Juno is the next Little Miss Sunshine.

I'd like it if Transformers snagged the SFX award...Pirates won it last year, and Spider-Man 3 wasn't overly impressive.

I think we've had a bad year for Oscar worthy - truly classic Oscar worthy - movies, across the board.
Yup, I agree!
There just hadn't been a lot of good stuff at all. And I thought LAST YEAR was bad.
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I think There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men could be strong contenders at next year's Academy Awards.
Meanwhile, I'd like to see Once take some nominations. However, I'm afraid that the film will be forgotten by awards season, although it may be recognized for its music.

Just FYI: Persepolis is now on the official Academy list for consideration in Best Foreign Language Film as a representative of France.

Yeah, I saw that - cool! I think this year there's going to be a lot of competition for that title though. I can't remember if Paris, je t'aime made the list? With the studio backing that has, it could go that way.
But lovely that an animated film was put forward.

Wait, "Ratatouille" had a song?
Why can't I remember it?
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift--that is why it's called the present."

It's that French song (not sung by any of the characters) that plays in the background when Collette and Linguini fall in love and later on again at the end.
If you go on itunes to the Rat soundtrack, you can download it!

Ah, I remember it now. I didn't know that it was an original song.

No, Paris, je'taime is not on the list.
Countries can only submit one film, and France chose Persepolis among many other contending films.
