No way! :o You just never know what to expect from him!
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

While it’s a bit of a shocker for El Spielbergo himself to go from Netflix-basher in favor of preserving the theatrical experience to making this deal, Amblin Partners' TV division actually has had many dealings with Netflix for a while now (including the excellent doc series Five Came Back), which is maybe how they managed to scoop the likes of Universal's Peacock and Warners' HBOM, both of which studios have been longtime Amblin homes.

The likes of pals Marty Scorsese and George Lucas, both with their own recent experiences of varying personal success, may also have paved the way as to how ol' Steve sees the wind blowing and who he would yield most power and independence with. And I’d bet he gets a good proper month or so bigs fern release for his more prestige pictures — if you can’t beat 'em, join 'em, and there’s probably also an element of finding a compromise on both points from the inside. He’s a very shrewd man after all…
