Re: Song of the South

I never understood why the crows are the issue in Dumbo and not the Song of the Roustabouts.

Re: Drive In Movies Making A Big Comeback!

My town did one with E.T and it was a success. They plan to do another with Back to the Future.

Re: Moana

It's the first time we get some insight into Maui being abandoned I believe, which leads to him opening up about it. He also gets his hook back and realizes he can no longer control his shape-shifting. It also have Tamatoa play into both Maui's and Moana's insecurities about their identities, which...

Re: Moana

I would also add that in my opinion Moana is the first film since probably Hercules that actually felt like a musical and not just a film with songs in it. Its music and songs are intertwined with its plot, characters and central themes. They emotionally progress as Moana does.

Re: Moana

To each his own I guess. I liked Shiny better than Love is an Open Door, Mother Knows Best, Friends on the Other Side and, especially, Mine, Mine, Mine.

Re: Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast

Yes they did change the character who needed to change, understandably because I don't feel it would come across as alright that Belle needed to learn the lesson when the Beast is the one who threatens her father. The original Beast had issues but at least he didn't treat Belle as if she was lesser ...

Re: Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast

As a huge fan of the original, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the remake was abysmal. At first when hearing about this remake being developed, it made me wonder why it was a thing. Maleficent and Cinderella I could understand as they weren't really remaking them as just doing something di...

Re: Moana

I really admire the strong theme of identity in this film. By how Moana is conflicted between her longing to go to the ocean and doing what's right for her people. How the two things are bridged together in the end by Moana learning about who she really is, about her people's past and culture. It is...

Re: Disney Wanting to make live action Atlantis Movie!

I'm not excited by this remake (or any of them for that matter) but I do agree that a remake can be better than the original. I saw Atlantis a long time ago and I don't really rewatch it but I do remember that the side characters were uninteresting, it took them a long time to get there and once the...

Re: Disney's Hercules (Live-Action)

What are your thoughts about the possibility that the film might not be a musical?

Re: Onward - Review

Hi, I'm new here.
I'm glad I could find another place to talk about animated films and Disney.

As for Onward, I liked the film but I don't think it's going to become a top favorite of mine.
