Re: Looney tunes return to the big screen in new animated film!

I saw The Day The Earth Blew Up for a second time, today .. the first animated film I've done that for, in quite awhile (though, throughout the 1990s & 2000s I used to see almost every animated film in theaters three times or more!) .. it was definitely just as enjoyable, even with now knowing some ...

Re: Looney tunes return to the big screen in new animated film!

I'd heard scuttlebutt that all copies of Coyote vs Acme had been destroyed. It seems that must not have been true! 8)

Re: Looney tunes return to the big screen in new animated film!

The AMC theaterplex here in Burbank only has it on one screen (out of 30!) .. and only two shows per day, on its opening weekend .. 2PM and 5PM .. NO evening screenings! I almost don't expect it to be there even next weekend. :? So I saw it this evening at the Universal Laemmle theater in North Holl...

Re: Rom the spaceknight returns to Marvel!

I did forget to mention Star Raiders .. which is a gorgeous trade paperback, set in the same universe as the newsstand Atari Force comic. The only ongoing AF character to appear in it is the Hukka (a semi-sentient pet creature) .. but it does name-check both the Atari Force and their battle with the...

Re: Rom the spaceknight returns to Marvel!

The early-1980s licensed comic book that I'd really love to see reprinted in an oversize deluxe hardcover format is Atari Force , published by DC Comics. . AtariForce.jpg . Both the original series of five mini-comics that were included in the boxes of various Atari 2600 cartridge games, and the lat...

Re: How to Train Your Dragon (Live-Action)

huh. The HTTYD trailer I saw in front of Dog Man a couple weeks ago was different than either of the two posted above. :?

.. but that last one makes it look like a shot-for-shot remake of the animated movie. :o

Re: Complete Carl Barks Disney Comics Collection Coming!

 I always patronize dedicated booksellers like Bud Plant or Stuart Ng -- or also order direct from small publishers, like Hermes Press -- over Amazon, when it comes to comic strip/art books; regardless of expense. The books always arrive in perfect condition. It's obvious that each package is...

Re: Complete Carl Barks Disney Comics Collection Coming!

I have the 2006 edition of Fantagraphics' Dan DeCarlo book Innocence & Seduction , by Bill Morrison. The latest expanded edition -- with 40 additional pages of material! -- is on my wish list; I haven't gotten it yet. edit: I've actually just this moment purchased a copy from Bud Plant. Ap...

Re: Metv toons network channel to air classic cartoons

Apparently, Classic Media has requested that MeTV Toons "pause airing" of Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends. :?

MeTV Toons is airing episodes of The Flintstones in R&B&F's place, at the moment.

Re: Complete Carl Barks Disney Comics Collection Coming!

I do have Classic Comics Press' book collection of Paul Murry's Buck O'Rue comic strips.

Also -- like Dan DeCarlo and Jack Cole (and his former Disney co-worker Freddy Moore) -- Murry was a decent 'good girl' artist, as well.

Re: Complete Carl Barks Disney Comics Collection Coming!

Very nice! :) I have three volumes of the Fantagraphics 'Disney Masters' hardcovers featuring Mickey Mouse comics by Paul Murry .. he was my second-favorite Mickey auteur (behind Floyd Gottfredson, of course!) About 15 years ago, Electric Tiki released a 'mini-maquette' featuring Super Goof .. he's ...

Re: Complete Carl Barks Disney Comics Collection Coming!

The final volume of Fantagraphics' collected Carl Barks' Donald Duck , Uncle $crooge and Walt Disney's Comics & Stories comics (announced at the beginning of this thread 14 years ago!) is scheduled for release in June. :D .. and I agree that a similar hardcover collection of Super Goof comics would ...

Re: Dreamworks Dogman the movie!

I loved the premise presented in the trailer so much that I went out and bought all thirteen (!) Dog Man books .. I read them all, over the course of a month..! It's a unique and very fun-to-read series of books, with some genuine heartfelt moments buried under its surface-level silliness. This movi...
