Little Mermaid's Island
Has anyone else here heard of Disney/Jim Henson's Little Mermaid's Island? Saw this footage for the first time today:

Re: Disney's Frozen (formerly Snow Queen) 2013
I liked Frozen but not as much as Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph . I loved its first half, which contains some of Disney's best musical numbers since The Lion King . I only wish its second half had been as full of great songs - "Fixer Upper" stuck out to me as the most unnecessary and out-of-place song ...

Re: YouTube Goodness
Here's a new - and pretty good! - student film about Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It's a nice peek at what we might expect from Pixar's and Guillermo del Toro's movies about the holiday.

Re: Man of Steel (2013)
Yeah, I wasn't too keen on Affleck playing Batman - he's a much better director than actor, in my opinion - but that video has helped me warm up to the idea. And Matt Damon in Justice League?! (Actually, him as Aquaman works for me.) Yep, Affleck's directing that one, I'll bet. If Affleck directs Ju...

Re: Planes
I caught a 2D screening of Planes yesterday. Personally, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Now, I agree Planes is very formulaic, borrowing heavily from Cars . Also, the movie feels "small," despite featuring an international race. So, I'm not saying Planes is Best Animated Feature material. But it is much ...

Right now, Planes is at 23% on the Tomatometer.
I wasn't expecting Toy Story 3, but I refuse to believe the movie is that bad.

Re: Monsters University
Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, I wish Newman had composed original music for those scenes - heck, I wouldn't have minded if he had just used some slight variation of the "Enter the Heroes" and "The Scare Floor" tracks from the Monsters, Inc. soundtrack.

Re: Monsters University
Monsters University is much better than I expected. The only real complaint I have - and I can't believe I'm saying this - is Randy Newman's score. I love his score for Monsters, Inc. But I think he dropped the ball during... ...the end montage of Mike and Sulley moving up the ranks of Monsters, In...

Re: Roger Ebert dies at 70
I'll never forget watching Siskel & Ebert as a boy, every week - even when the local affiliate moved the show to 1:30 a.m. on Mondays. When my family finally got internet access, I was blown away by the realization that I could also read Ebert's reviews each week. I "grew up" with Ebert; he was one ...

Re: Finding Nemo 2 (yes it's real)
I would like to see a Finding Nemo sequel focusing on Dory's past. I'm not talking about a prequel; I mean a sequel about that past. I can't help but feel that somewhere is a life she has forgotten. Remember when Marlin met Dory? She was rushing around, spastic. Soon she makes this comment: "I suff...
