Re: X-Men: First Class
What about Del Toro directing an X-men film? I enjoyed Hell Boy and Pacific Rim a lot. I don't know how knowledgeable he is about X-men but he does seem to be a big sci-fi and comic book geek.

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
I'm disappointed that there aren't as many animated films coming out in theaters this summer. Isn't summer usually the time that animated films rely on for support from the kids staying at home during their vacation from school? I think the only other animated film coming out is that new Legends of ...

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
Well right now part of me frankly feels like leaving these forums because of the rude, offensive, and insulting way Eddie and EricJ have treated me.

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
And yet I constantly see people on every Internet site I go to ranting about these supposed fanatical Frozen fans and how over-rated it is so Frozen critics can't be too terribly shunned.

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
I don't care if you hate Frozen but I don't appreciate the way EricJ insults anyone who likes the film or uses deragotory insults towards people with mental disorders or who are gay.

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
Never saw it billed so strongly as a MAJOR Disney movie spin-off nor did it pretend to be. It is what it is. The audience enjoyed it and so it continues. Look away. It wasn't meant for you. Nearly every trailer for the film billed it as "From above the world of Cars!" so it's clear they were hoping...

Re: Disney's Frozen
And was written mostly to work the BW/color gimmick into the story, which itself was a reader-fan nod to Baum's book. It's possible to see a movie song as just a movie song, without being either a Friend Of Judy OR a Friend Of Elsa. Actually, there is no rainbow mentioned anywhere in Baum's book an...

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
As a DTV, you could get away with saying, "yeah, this is more from the world of Cars", or even "this is like Cars but nothing to do with Cars" (except it is)...but not as a theatrical feature. Made by Disney Animation or not, they put it out as if it was a major Disney movie spin-off from Cars...an...

Re: Disney's Frozen
Somewhere Over The Rainbow was also originally a song about Dorothy running away from her problems yet it's the most famous movie song of all time and has been a source of inspiration for decades.

Re: Disney's Frozen
Only if you completely ignore the song's context within the film, which is that she's solving her problems by running away from them and it's very strongly implied that she's fully aware of what her powers are doing and doesn't care. Calling the fans a "deranged cult" goes too far, I'll grant you, ...

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
Even the positive reviews I read of the film admitted it was a cliched story that would be an amusing enough distraction for kids but it's hardly justification for a whole new franchise.

Re: Planes: Fire & Rescue
Was the first Planes movie really all that successful to warrant a sequel? I seem to recall that it got a lot of negative reviews.
