Re: Winnie the Pooh (2011)
I think King of the Elves will be CG and I'm basing this purely on the fact that Dean Wellins (if he is still the director, seems to keep changing!) said Tick Tock Tale was a trial run for his next full length feature would be in 3D. But yeah, the quaintness of Winnie the Pooh and the small budget m...

Re: Winnie the Pooh (2011)
The only song I remember from Tangled was "When Will My Life Begin", everything else just felt pretty weak. The score was a lot better than TPATF, but I definitely perfer the latter's songs - to me they were far better infused into the progression of the story whereas Tangled just kind of shoehorned...

Re: Winnie the Pooh (2011)
Even though Tangled is the superior film (finally managed to see it over here in the UK last week at an advance screening and it's the best animated film I've seen since Ratatouille), the music in Princess and the Frog was far more memorable. The reason Princess didn't make as much money is the very...

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)
But what one Earth makes you think different audiences means more slapstick and whacky humor and a new, funny title? What makes you think audiences wouldn't want another Beauty and the Beast? If that serious, dramatic film came out now instead of back then...it would still be smash. If mainly by wo...

Re: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland
Well it's official. Odeon are boycotting Alice in Wonderland. I will never forgive them for this. Now I have to travel miles and miles to a non-Odeon cinema. If any others cinema chains follow suit I'm gonna have to take a day trip to France just to see it!

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)
To be fair, Pooh is being produced with a $35 million budget which is pretty small by today's standards. It shouldn't be hard for it to break even and then make a reasonable profit, even if it doesn't exactly set the box office on fire. Even if it only manages to match TPATF's $200 million + (and co...

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)
The trailer looks pretty good, although I'm hoping it's a bit more than just a romantic comedy. It does seem to focus more on Flynn and it's not particularly obvious that the female is actually Rapunzel. I have a real problem with the music. A few smplaes from the soundrack would have been a lot bet...

Having seen the new title logo (which I'm really not keen on) I have to admit that it would suggest Disney is going for a more comical tone than had previously been intended. Obviously still cannot make any real judgments as of yet, but based purely on this new title font Tangled seems to be far mor...

I understand what you mean, I was being facetious. (It was actually a response to Dusterian anyhow). My concern is with the use of the word rightfully, as in "rightfully allowed or disallowed to use a title." As if it is some ancient teaching stretching back to the scriptures, thou shalt not alter t...

Yeah I understand the context, I just don't understand the use of the word rightfully.

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)
Exactly. This whole fanboy concept that the adaptation should in no way differ from the original is ludicrous. The Great Mouse Detective is a play on Sherlock Holmes, The Princess and the Frog should have been The Frog Princess, Apocalypse Now is based on heart of Darkness... All adaptations take li...

It still sounds like you are saying Disney shouldn't be Disney anymore just to make money... At no point have I ever said that. I talked about adapting, you're the one who keeps bringing up the issue of Disney abandoning it's traditions, not me. Tricking audiences, with horrible titles, that's what...

I know this isn't really related, but I didn't know if it would really be worth starting a new thread based on so little information. Anyway, over at Upcoming Pixar is a bit of news about a possible future film or short. http://pixarplanet.com/blog/more-art-revealed-for-rumored-boy-dinosaur-pixar-pr...
