Re: 2014 Oscar Contest - FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER!
I'm so sorry. I was planning on entering the Oscar contest, but I was busy and I never got around to it. I know the contest is closed, but can you please, please, please accept my last-minute predictions? It would mean so much to me. :D Best Picture: Gravity Best Actor: Matthew McCanaughey Best Actr...

I hope this disc means we will get Wakko's Wish in the future.

Re: The Avengers
I also hope DreamWorks now start to have some better box-office luck through their Disney arrangement, since the marketing on their films has been lousy too (as Spielberg has been very public about and even had a spat with Ross over War Horse). Sorry I'm being late in this reply (haven't logged in,...

Re: Sony and Aardman Move Forward with Two Projects
Odd there isn't an individual Pirates! Band of Misfits thread, or an Arthur Christmas one for that matter. Anyway, I just got back from seeing The Pirates and it was really funny. Classic Aardman wit and so much jokes inserted into every frame, whether the dialogue, the character animation or the ba...

Re: John Carter of Mars
Reading the book, the appeal is more in the strongly-written teenage characters than the fight-to-the-death storyline (which is actually quite suspenseful and the most page-turning parts). In fact, the whole part of the book where the teenagers start killing each other doesn't begin until Chapter 11...

Re: Tintin
Excellent review! I made it a point to buy the Blu-Ray on the first day and it looked magnificent. Tintin will definitely be something that I think will be extra-rewarding on multiple viewings. :-) I should point out a couple of little errors in your review: The Artist won the original score Oscar, ...

Re: John Carter of Mars
I very much liked John Carter, so its box-office is greatly disappointing me. Definitely a film that should be doing a lot better, but it's not capturing audience's attention for whatever reason. And Disney must be stinging right now, since Hunger Games made more on its opening day than John Carter'...

Re: The New DVD and Blu Thread
Woah, didn't know Coonskin was out on DVD. Though, my feeling towards Bakshi's work is mixed, I've been curious about that one for a while. Hopefully it's more Fritz the Cat and less Cool World and Heavy Traffic (yeah, I hated that one).

Re: John Carter of Mars
This is definitely the most curious I've been about how something will perform, since Tangled. However, this is something that's not quite as guaranteed. Andrew Stanton is my favourite of the Pixar Team, so I'm hoping it's very successful and I will definitely throw in my support. But, yeah, I'm pre...

Re: New upcoming animated films calendar
I just want to say how much I love this idea. Usually, I have to search on Wikipedia to find out the upcoming animated releases, so this is really nice and organised.
If I can make a tiny suggestion, how about putting the name of the director as well?

Do you think Fox News is going to complain about the science in Ice Age: Continental Drift?
I have a feeling they won't.

Re: The Looney Tunes Show (CN)
I have to saw the show has definitely improved since that dreadful first episode and it's got slightly funnier and more "looney." However, most of it still feels like they've taken discarded sitcom scripts and planted Bugs and Daffy in them. The most interesting reaction to this show has been the di...

Re: Modern shows with that 80s essence
Since this show was brought back, I was thinking that they should do a Howard the Duck animated series, but done in the style of a 1980s animated series ala Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. To be honest, with the live-action film was a hit, I would not be surprised if a Saturday morning cartoon would h...

I haven't seen Chico & Rita and A Cat in Paris (though I really want to see the latter), so I can't comment on those. I have no problem with Kung Fu Panda 2 and Rango getting nominated. I thought Panda 2 topped the first one and Rango was a unique and fun homage to classic westerns. I'm disappointed...
