Re: Criterion Collection
Randall— It's been a while since I last posted, but I visit the site a few times a week for animation news & like it best here amongst the sites I visit (the others being Cartoon Brew, Toon Zone, Animation Scoop, and Animation Magazine). If you need another reviewer or staff writer, I'd have an inte...

Re: Calling attention to quoting Cartoon Brew...
I know very little about either Amidi or Beck, but I feel from just from reading their posts, Beck is a serious animated film fan/scholar. His posts are typically more relevant and offer some depth. I have always left reading Amidi's posts with a distaste. He just gets his kicks creating controversi...

Re: Alphabetical index of all our reviews now online
Sublime. Had a lot of issues finding things with search, to be honest.

Well pity there are not more, I was hopeful there might be some unknown gem but online retailers had it covered.

Re: Best Books on Animated Feature Film History?
"Enchanted Drawings" and it looks to be quite comprehensive. I will check it out for sure.
As for the Halas book, I wonder if you're just thinking of Bruno Edera's book, which when published in '77 contained info. on most animated films to that point and was edited by Halas.

Best Books on Animated Feature Film History?
I am looking for books that specifically offer history and critique of feature-length (can be 30+ minute) animated films. There are a lot of books out there about animated shorts and television shows, but the books on feature films see more elusive. Here are the ones I have read: "Full Length Animat...

Shorts Collection Similar to Works of Al Jarnow?
I recently purchased an amazing set of animated short films by the animator Al Jarnow. It was called "Celestial Navigations: The Short Films of Al Jarnow." While the set is quite varied, the majority of animated shorts deal specifically with experiments in geometry, dimension, color. Here are two ex...

Re: Rate My Animation Collection
Ben - I'll look up Pointer/Stanchfield. Thank you for the suggestion. Nocturna is a fun and well-animated diversion. I hope the company can pony up the funding for a second feature. They've been shopping around. Shorts - I think I'm going to start by looking into reviews of the Treasures sets. Plag...

Since the creation of this thread I've found (mostly for cheap - otherwise I wouldn't add some of these titles): The Brave Little Toaster Rover Dangerfield Monkeybone Pagemaster Land Before Time 2, 3, 4, 13 How to Train Your Dragon Snoopy's Reunion You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown Busytown Mysteries...

Rate My Animation Collection
I haven't been here in ages (no thanks to college) - but recently I got an Email that a topic I had subscribed to received a response. It was the first such Email in some time so I've been lurking around recently. Since I used to come here a lot (I think this was my first animation forum) I'm curiou...
