Really the only thing I could say that Flash has the advantage over is that you can create websites with it. It has nothing to do with animation, but it's not only limited to animation. Now just on animation: I have both Toon Boom and Flash. Toon Boom was made to be an animation program and has a fe...

Bolt: The Best CG Animated Movie So Far
I recently saw Bolt again, but this time in Digital 3D and in my opinion it's the best made CG movie yet. My favorite for a long time was The Incredibles but Bolt has taken over my top spot.

Bolt is Great
I just wanted to say that I thought that "Bolt" was an excellent film. It is currently my favorite CG film!

My review of Kung Fu Panda
It sucked!
The animation was great, and the designs were ok. But the story sucked.

I guess I'm not cool, because I will pick the older classic animation over anything that comes out today! I love both Ratatouille and The Incredibles, they're both great films. But some animated movies today are just plain horrible. I know Horton Here's a Who! did well in the box office, but I thoug...

Thanks Dusterian for your input. That is exactly all I was getting at. I do not believe that Mocap should be considered animation or rather character animation, because in my opinion it's not. Real character animation comes from the talents and imagination of great animators. I agree with Droosan wh...

Disney Rotoscoped "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". He first intended it only as a guide for the animators but felt that the animators were not getting the exact movement for Snow White he was looking for. So he had them use it more extensively for Snow White. Don Graham, an animator for Disney at ...

Every component of an animated film needs to be at it's best. A good story can save the movie with bad animation, but who would want to see it. After all, animation is a visual format and the acting comes through the animated characters. If the animation can not support the story, then the entire mo...

Does the type animation effect the movie?
Does the type animation effect the movie? What I mean is that, would an animated film have more success using a different animation technique (2D, CG, Stop motion). The most important thing of any film is the story. But, can the style of animation improve it's quality? For example, would "Nightmare ...

My statement "To compare Rotoscoping to motion capture is erroneous" is not erroneous because an animator still has to do the animation. Rotoscoping is only reference. Yes the animator traces over the film, but he still has to add the principles of animation. Were as mocap the computer does the majo...
