Incredible
I don't know who's argument this helps, but in the Barrier interview, Bird talks about how he really wasn't much of a comic fan, and one of the few things he read was SPIRIT. He's aware that showing the human/every day site of superheros isnt a novel idea, but claims to have never read anything of t...

Incredible
Thanks Ben, and I agree with a lot of the things you said as well! I loved the film, but I did have my problems with it. The ending is a bit of a cop-out, turning into meaningless "sound and fury." Little problems here and there, but overall it's an incredible achievement. And I think Toy Story 2 an...

Incredibles
I will lose what little respect I have for the Academy if the Incredibles does not win. It's too good not to!

Academy Awards
Lets also not lose sight of the fact that the Academy Awards are a fairly insignificant event that has had decades behind it to hype it up. It's not necissarily a reflection of a "popular vote," instead it is the opinion of a select group of elites (aka Hollywood people) who pay an annual fee to be ...

Yeah, in case you couldn't tell, I'm excited about getting the DVD as well!
And there's a new short that centers around JackJack, so I've heard?
But yes, without a doubt, this is one I gotta own.

Shrek
My apologies to Shrek fans in advance, but the Shrek movies have never done it for me. There is not one aspect of the Shrek films that I don't feel could have been done better: animation, storytelling, desing, etc. This isn't to say that the movies are terrible, they are quite enjoyable. But compare...

more...sorry!
sorry, one other awesome scene I gotta point out: I also love the moment that Syndrome’s past as the “fan boy” is revealed. It’s done brilliantly. He walks toward Mr. Incredible, and inquires if he remembers what he told him on their last encounter. As he says this he lifts his arms and his palms up...

Amid, Spumco, and those damn Loonatics
Amid is the opinionated Ying of Beck's apparently unbiased Yang. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Beck feels just as strongly as Amid, especially considering that Beck has written several books about the beloved WB characters. And yes, the Spumco people have their own cult-esque style, but...

They also say they're gonna have a show called "Coconut Fred," who looks and sounds a lot like Spongebob. Originality at WB saturday mornings.

to add to that...
I can kinda see where Jet is coming from...but Gay Puree is probably one of the most disapointing animated films I've ever seen...it's a Chuck Jones cartoon without the vitality of a Chuck Jones cartoon.

Willy Wonka
Many Tim Burton films of late have been awesome visually, and lacking in the story department. The story is pretty much laid out for him here, so hopefully he'll be okay. I for one, am very excited by this teaser trailer. Tim Burton is going in some interesting directions recently. If I had seen Big...

The Incredibles
THE INCREDIBLES is one of the best animated films I’ve ever seen. Brad Bird really knows how to direct - it was apparent in THE IRON GIANT, and now it’s been proven again. Every aspect was wonderful: the storytelling, the stylistic devices, etc. But what sticks out most in my mind is the superb char...
