Re: "Wreck-It Ralph"

I'm late to the party, but the film took a while to come to Australia. :P Let me just say - WOW. I remember first reading about the premise of Wreck-it Ralph, and dismissed it as a cheesy attempt to cash in on the current cultural zeitgeist. After all, there are some immediate similarities with Toy ...

Re: Brave

I gotta admit, my reactions are a little mixed about the film. I settled quickly after realising the film's smaller scale, but even so, I find that something about the pacing puts me off...I can't put my finger on it, but it doesn't feel quite right to me. I gotta say though, I had a real "oh snap" ...

I think critics are being a wee bit hard on Cars 2 just because it's a Pixar film. If it were Dreamworks, it'd probably fare better, and the majority would say something along the lines of it having a somewhat banal emotional hook, but it's still a highly enjoyable action romp. But yeah, it doesn't ...

Re: Tron: Legacy

I haven't read even the 'mediocre' reviews for fear of spoiling myself, but I'm hoping that they say that the film is mediocre in the sense that it's a typical summer blockbuster; because I'm not getting my hopes up for a particularly excellent film - just good fun. If the film can't deliver even th...

I definitely love it - I've watched it a couple dozen times already :P. "Finn McMissile, British Intelligence." "Tow Mater, average intelligence." Gold! I literally laughed out loud at that :). When I first heard about a Cars sequel, I wasn't thrilled, but now this trailer has convinced me how untap...

Re:

Haha! I totally agree! :P I have to say, while I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the ending made me tear up just a little, I do have one particular issue which I shall elaborate in spoiler form! Even though the final 5 minutes were indeed beautiful, I can't help but feel just a little gypped! Throu...

Re: Tangled (Formerly Rapunzel)

I gotta say that I agree they focused a little too much on Flynn, but it's just the trailer, I guess ^_^. I wasn't really sure how Rapunzel was going to look all animated up, but she completely stole the trailer for me! Maybe it's just because the film IS about her and there was quite a buildup to h...

I gotta say that the thing that really stuck out for me is the vibe of Rio de Janeiro itself. The music (obviously), the sights and sounds, that sense of excitement and partying all around you. It actually reminded me a lot of Lilo and Stitch because the Hawaiian vibe was one of the things that made...

Re: Mega Mind (formerly titled Oobermind & MasterMind)

Eh, I'm still not very hot on this flick, going by the trailer :(. However, I do think it's very cool that they haven't revealed the film's true plot in the trailer! I hope that they do this in whatever remaining trailers there are. If the angle of Megamind killing off Metroman and creating a new su...

Re: Spider-man to team-up with heroes in new cartoon

They should have called it Spider-man: The Brave and the Bold :P.

Although it's doubtful, I really really hope this doesn't mean the end of Spectacular Spider-man! That show was frickin' AMAZING and I'd be very sad if we didn't get at least one more season :(.

Re:

I'm totally switched on to seeing this in a theater now, after all your VERY good words (and James' review of course)! Just don't get your hopes too high! :P I think a large part of the reason why we're so happy with the film is because the film surprised us and was different from some of our expec...

Re: How to Train your Dragon

Just read James' review, and I gotta say that it's a very good one :). The film itself is indeed amazing, which to me, says a lot because I entered the cinema with pretty high expectations. Unlike some folks, I was actually quite psyched up from the trailers and had a very good vibe about the film f...

I think this teaser would have been a lot better if it had that chick with the short hair <3. I've got a feeling that she's going to be the best part about this film :P.

Seems like it's more than an internal name - it's going to be a straight re-naming?

I really liked 'The Bear and the Bow', but ah well :p.

Just saw Fantastic Mr Fox yesterday :].

I have to say that Mr Anderson really does seem to have a natural flair for directing animation. I enjoyed 'Fantastic Mr Fox' immensely - it's a very clever and good-looking film, with some truly inspired moments and shots.
